To provide some background, our founder, Bruce Sansom, has been in the investment business for many years. He founded the first wealth management firm in Edmonton called Managed Investments Ltd.  The other founding shareholders were Bob Stollery of PCL, George Poole of PCL and Andrew McGregor of McGregor Powerline Construction.

That company prospered as assets under management grew to $980 million. Included among the clients of Managed Investments, were such organizations as: Alberta Heritage Trust Fund, City of Edmonton, PCL Construction, Outboard Marine Corp., Maritime Life, University of Alberta Hospital Foundation, The Sisters of Charity, Peace Hills Trust, Alberta Blue Cross and numerous other corporate pension funds and individuals.

Managed Investments was acquired by a company that became known as Greystone, Managed Investments Ltd., which was recently acquired by a Canadian bank.

Your money and investments are completely safe

We contract for custodial, trade settlement and safekeeping services with RBC Investor Services. RBC holds all cash and assets in your name and only you have access to them. Global Wealth Builders Ltd. is only permitted to execute investment transactions and invoice RBC for our fees. Their fees for this service average out to18 basis points.

We consider ourselves to be Fiduciaries.

We believe we have a fiduciary duty to our clients to keep their assets safe. Our staff must “eat our own cooking” as outside investments are not permitted. We take all steps possible to avoid conflict with the interests of our clients. We adjust the asset mix to manage risk and tame volatility in our client’s portfolios.
